A specialist practice, not a general one.

RelaNex Group is a specialist electrical engineering consultancy headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan, focused exclusively on power system protection, automation, and engineering studies. Rather than operating as a generalist engineering firm, we have deliberately built our practice around a narrow, deeply technical field — so that every engagement is handled by people who work in it daily.

The practice is organised around four engineering disciplines — protection and automation, power system studies, asset reliability, and power automation and control systems — together with RelaNex Academy, our corporate training division, which develops the same capability inside our clients' own teams. Each engagement is staffed with engineers qualified in the discipline the work calls for, and resourced to the scope rather than to whoever happens to be free. Every engagement is led by an engineer directly involved in the technical work; there are no account managers between you and the people doing the analysis.

RelaNex Group works with energy, oil & gas, and industrial clients across Azerbaijan and internationally, including projects in Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, and Europe. Our engineering leadership brings IEEE-published research and more than a decade of HV and MV project delivery across oil, gas and heavy industry.

Our strength lies in being vendor-independent. We work confidently across all major protection platforms — ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, GE (Multilin), Alstom, and SEL — giving our clients unbiased, technically sound recommendations rather than solutions shaped by manufacturer allegiance. From relay logic design and protection philosophy development to power system studies, protection upgrades and reliability-centred maintenance strategy, we support projects at every stage — from concept and design through FAT/SAT commissioning and long-term operational support.

Scoped by an engineer

The first conversation is technical. Scope, assumptions and required input data are agreed with the engineer who will carry out the work, so what we quote is what the project actually needs.

Resourced to the discipline

Protection, studies and reliability are separate skill sets. Work is assigned to engineers qualified in the relevant discipline and scaled to the scope of the engagement.

Built on named standards

Deliverables are prepared against the standards that govern them — IEC 60909 and ANSI/IEEE C37.010 for fault levels, IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E for arc flash, IEEE 80 for earthing, IEC 61850 and IEC 60255 for protection, SAE JA1011 for RCM.

Issued as usable engineering

Calculation reports with stated assumptions, setting sheets ready to load, coordination curves, validated network models and test procedures — documentation your team and your EPC contractor can work from directly.

Independent of any supplier

We hold no distributor agreements. Recommendations across ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, GE (Multilin), Alstom and SEL reflect what suits your network, and we can review vendor submissions without a conflict of interest.

Supported past handover

Involvement continues through FAT and SAT into operation, including setting changes as the network is modified or extended, so the design intent is not lost after commissioning.
